Do you pay tips for ?

when you go get a tattoo do you have to tip the artist or does he just take it out of the money that you payed for that tattoo...?

an if you do how much would you pay for it.. mine will be kinda big not really its 160 dollars a Hawaiian flower with tribal on each side... lower back

Do you pay tips for ?
No we do not take a tip out of the money from the cost of the tattoo. Tattoo artists get paid 1 of two ways... either they get to keep everything they make that week, and pay a booth rent at the end of the week, or they get 40% to 60% of the total amount they did for the day and the studio gets the other 60% to 40%. Just because you pay 160 for a tattoo doesnt mean we get to keep all that to ourselves (same goes for us piercers).

If I were you and I was paying the $160 for my tattoo, my artist would be handed $200 and told to keep the change. I've never not tipped a tattoo artist, even ones who I have worked with that gave me free tattoos, they still got at least a $20 tip.

Tipping is always a nice thing. Do you tip waitresses who serve you food? So why wouldn't you tip someone that you defintely want to build a good working relationship with, especially if you plan on returning to them for more tattoos.

*Tipping is good karma

*Tipping is not just a city in Japan

*Thank you doesn't pay the bills
Reply:only tip if you are happy with the job they did
Reply:dont' get the tattoo...and so don't worry about the associated etiquete....
Reply:Only tip if the work is good.
Reply:In Australia people are paid for their services...no need to tip.
Reply:In the UK most of our service charges are included in the price so a tip would be included in the cost of the tattoo, I'd maybe give a little tip but where I live it is not customary, as customs differ all over the world then I'd stick with what is your local custom so as not to cause offence to anyone.
Reply:Yes, You should Tip!

Depends on what you think after they do your tattoo.

Its your decision.

Of how good they did.
Reply:ALWAYS TIP!!

10-20%

so for you, You would tip $16-$32 on top of the price for the tattoo depending how they treat you, the quality of the tatt

so your looking at AT LEAST $176
Reply:I always tip. It is a service and they aren't pocketing the whole total cost of the tattoo.

mine ran me 300$ last week so I left a 20% tip.
Reply:Tip about 20$ if its a 150$ + tatoo
Reply:of course you should tip! 20% or greater
Reply:most places don't require you to tip. if you like the tattoo and think they did a good job you should tip them though. i always tip about $5.
Reply:While it is always nice to recieve a tip, a tatoo artist in not expecting one. You should only leave one if he/she does something excepectional without charging you (for example, includes an additional color)
Reply:Do yourself a favor and skip the tattoo..
Reply:do you tip at the bank also?
