What color should I paint my livingroom walls/ceiling?

-The room is 11' X 15' with 3 doorway openings, and two medium-sized windows on the same wall. (I want to make the room appear larger.)

-I have 2 wingback chairs with solid Khaki slipcovers.

-The sofa is a cream color and printed with Hawaiian flowers: light greens, mauve, lilac, salmon pink, bluish gray, and a dark orange/tan that gradually turns into brown. (The majority of the couch is cream background, though.)

-The end tables and coffee table are wooden- this is the actual set:

Salmon is big right now, we are seeing it everywhere.

I would definately play off of the salmon in your print with florals and even genuine coral.

As for your walls and ceiling colors, I think that staying in a natural tone as an off white or wheat color would be nice. Whatever color you choose for your walls, go 2-3 shades lighter of that color on the ceiling. I would not do white on the ceiling. Staying in the same tones on the walls and ceilings blends the room and actually makes it look more airy, open and blended. A white ceiling will create a boxed feel. To get a feel for this, sketch a room on paper, color in the walls and then color the ceilings the same color, you can visual see how the room blends.

have fun, your room sounds beautiful!
Reply:A dark color paint will make your room look smaller and more closed in. My advice would be to choose a light color something that would fit in with the color of your sofa. Maybe the cream color you were talking about.
Reply:i think your main wall painted mint green and the other three walls painted cream would look lovely and would make it look very spacious
Reply:A LIGHT COLOR ALWAYS MAKES A ROOM LOOK LARGER. I WOULD GO WITH A SHADE OF GREEN IN YOUR SOFA.
