Footprints?

me and some people are thinking of getting tattoos together.. we wanted something hawaiian themed, and they liked the idea of hibiscus flowers...it's not that i don't like them because they are overdone or anything, but i hardly see any i like. they are completely open to other ideas, and they want me to draw them all out. i just came up with the idea of having footprints walking in sand... i was wondering what you guys thought, if that would translate well into a tattoo, and just your overall oppinion...

Footprints?
i think the footprints would come out good. if you get a good artist then pulling off the sand should be pretty easy. the only thing i would worry about is that if you want it definetly hawaiian themed, then footprints may not be the best since you could run into the religious outake on the footprints. maybe try a surfboard or something. or look really hard and make sure you find a flower? hope this helps!
Reply:I'm not really into the footprint idea. But I look on http://www.tattoojohnny.com and searched hibiscus and it actually turned up a lot of really pretty designs. You should go check them out. Just go to the website and put hibiscus in the search box. I hope this helped.
Reply:how about footprints the color of sand, they would look cool along the side of your foot. why hawaii themed. remmeer this is forever, why don't you get something that will tie you all together like a chinese character of friendship??? if it has to be hawaii go to a clip art page and get some ideas
Reply:how would they do sand in a tattoo??i like the idea, i just dont know how it would work. maybe a surfboard/surfer, palm tree, volcano

EDIT: also dolphins, turtles, clown fish,
Reply:Footprints would look neat, if done right. Perhaps on your side. And you could play with different colours. because not all tattoos have to be all black and bold.

Or you could mix animals into the shap of the footprints. Such as a mini turtle of each to, and dolphins for the arch or something like that. And combine it with plants. Done in the maui way.
